2 Degrees is a New Zealand telecommunications provider. Its mobile network launched on 4 August 2009 after nine years of planning and spending more than $250 million constructing a brand new mobile network in New Zealand. 2 Degrees offers prepaid and pay-monthly mobile services as well as fixed-line phone and broadband services.
Back in the 90s a visionary group of Maori challenged the crown through the Treaty of Waitangi and won the rights to 3G spectrum. Despite financial and regulatory adversity a Maori Trust (Hautaki) was established with the challenge of launching New Zealand’s 3rd mobile network.
Since then, they’ve been busy. They have the backing of a unique partnership of international and Kiwi investors that have enabled 2 degrees to build a brand new mobile network, helping 2 Degrees to cover 97% of the places Kiwis live and work. In March 2015 they also acquired NZ’s fourth largest ISP Snap.
2 Degrees’ call centre is open seven days a week.
Monday to Sunday: 8am to 10pm

Most cases a standard Fibre installation is free. Fibre installation is subsidised by the government as part of New Zealand’s Ultra-Fast Broadband programme. If your connection is classified as ‘non-standard’ install, there may be costs involved.
Fibre speed boost will upgrade the download and upload speeds of 2 Degrees’ customers 120GB and Unlimited fibre broadband plans to 300/100Mbs. There’s also no additional charges for fibre speed boost.
If you’re running a little short on funds but need to keep using your 2 Degrees mobile, you can buy an IOU Pack to keep you going. Simply pay it back on your next Top Up. 2 Degrees has three types of IOU Packs available.
Simply text the word ‘buy’ with the IOU Pack that you need to 288. To get the $3 Talk & Text IOU Pack, text ‘buy 3Talk’ to 288. To get the $3 Data IOU Pack, text ‘buy 3Data’ to 288. To get the $5 Combo IOU Pack, text ‘buy 5Combo’ to 288.
